We have an outstanding Contract position for a Product Shipping and Receiving Clerk to join a leading Company located in the Vista, CA surrounding area.
Pay Rate: $21.67
**US Citizenship is required.**
Job Responsibilities:
Performs a combination of manual and clerical shipping and receiving duties; may work out of a central warehouse.
Uses computer system for tracking, logging, verifying and reporting. Follows shipping practices and procedures, and transportation routing, schedules and requirements.
Receives incoming materials or prepares materials for shipment. (Un)packs or (un)wraps items such as finished products, raw stock, assemblies, parts, building materials, office supplies, equipment, etc.
Verifies quantity, weight, and conformance of materials to stated identifications; logs receipt of items on system, processes freight bills, packing sheets, and other documents; reports materials shipped and bills of lading; posts weight and shipping charges and routes merchandise to destinations.
Performs non-routine tasks which may involve some use of judgment and initiative in the shipping and receiving of materials, supplies and equipment.
Under general supervision, prepares record of goods shipped and received and bill of lading, posts weights and shipping charges and maintains shipping record files.
May operate forklift and prepare goods for final shipment, under limited supervision.
Receives some instruction on routine work, general instructions on new assignments.
Uses professional concepts to solve a variety of problems.
Works on assignments that are semi-routine in nature where limited judgment is required.
Follows standard practices and procedures in analyzing situations or data from which answers can be readily obtained.
Decisions or failure to achieve results may cause delays in schedules.
Interacts daily with supervisors, peer groups, and internal and external customers.
Interaction normally involves exchange or presentation of factual information.
May serve in a lead role and train others.
Normally receives some instruction on routine work, general instruction on new assignments.
Basic Hiring Criteria:
High school education or equivalent and 3+ year of related experience.
Having some knowledge and experience, able to handle unusual occurring job events.
Stockroom experience that includes receiving, put away, kitting, cycle counting and shipment of various materials.
Good data entry skills are required to accurately complete daily transactions as required.
Material Handling experience using various handling equipment (e.g: forklifts) to move material throughout Manufacturing locations.
Stockroom and Warehouse experience, good math skilland interpersonal skills.
Candidate must be able to work both independently and with a group in moving material to and from work cells.
Desired Qualifications:
Receiving and Shipping experience.
Good understanding of Material Control and Movement processes and data entry skills.
Familiar with use of material handling equipment including forklifts.
Must have this experience and a solid job history. No job hoppers.
