We have an outstanding career opportunity for a Staff Accountant to join a leading Company located in the Ottawa, IL surrounding area.
Salary Range: $70,000 - $80,000
This Staff Accountant position will provide accounting support and guidance to the organization and ensure that appropriate financial processes and systems are in place.
Responsibilities:
Assist with cash applications and reconcile to the general ledger each week.
Monitor intercompany accounts and keep them balanced.
Prepare monthly commission reports and route for approval.
Process the employee expense reports for the corporate office.
Set up corporate ACH and wire payments
Perform monthly GL close tasks as assigned including corporate payroll entries and GL account reconciliations.
Balance sales tax entries to tax software (Avalara) and complete maintenance/new set-ups as needed.
Assist in the financial reporting process for internal management reporting.
Maintain strong business relationships with the team and key employees.
Assist as needed with audit requests.
Develop and maintain up-to-date work instructions for all core job responsibilities.
Actively pursue opportunities to automate, streamline, and improve processes.
Other accounting duties as requested by management.
Must have experience with ERP systems (Sage a plus).
Requires experience performing accounts receivable, journal entries, and reconciliations.
Must have strong communication skills and be able to interface with all levels of management.
Ability to manage a broad range of activities and juggle multiple tasks.
Strong Microsoft Office skills.
Excellent time management and organizational skills.
Organized, self-motivated, ability to multi-task and work independently.
Working in a manufacturing environment is a plus.
