Candidates should have hands-on experience and be able to confidently discuss systems involving:
PLCs
VFDs
Control voltage systems
Power distribution (480V and above)
Experience with GE and Siemens systems, troubleshooting, condition monitoring, and preventive maintenance is essential.
Job Responsibilities:
Provide skilled electrical maintenance support to proactively identify and prevent failure points in operations equipment by interpreting operator feedback and understanding machine status indications and electrical control functions to recommend action.
Contribute to improving our maintenance management system through Root Cause Analysis and resolving errors that occur with a preventive mindset.
Collaborate as a multidisciplinary team member with mechanical, process, and reliability colleagues to prioritize and focus tasks and investments to meet our operational needs and initiatives for a dedicated area of the plant.
Support and engage in our ISO/TS quality management by maintaining and improving sensor data and controls equipment and ensure performance for critical to quality monitoring functions.
Maintain, test, and repair a diverse array of electrical systems and components, including PLCs, HMIs, SCADA systems, Power Distribution, Variable Frequency Drives, and more.
Assist engineering in the design, installation, start up, shut down, and planned maintenance of new or modified equipment in accordance with US and safety procedures and standards.
Evaluate existing equipment safety system robustness and improve to ensure they are maintained and operating at appropriate performance levels per ISO standards.
Read, interpret, correct, and communicate to maintain electrical drawings and diagrams as needed in the execution of daily tasks.
Supervise and/or assist contract personnel as needed to perform work safely and to the level of quality expected by the company.
Maintain high standards for workmanship and housekeeping before, during, and after work, and contribute to cleanliness and 5S adherence in shared areas.
Contribute to rotating weekly on-call duties to support Shift Technicians where electrical expertise or hands-on support are needed.
Qualifications:
2–3 years of experience providing electrical technical support in an industrial environment; prior exposure to extrusion, plastics processing, web handling, or winding systems is a plus.
Associate degree in Industrial Systems, Electrical/Electronics Technology, or a related technical field preferred. Certifications in Electrical Systems, PLCs, Hydraulics, Pneumatics, or Industrial Maintenance are a strong advantage.
CCST Level I (Certified Control System Technician) certification preferred, or a willingness and ability to obtain certification with company support.
Proficient in working with PLCs, HMIs, and VFDs. Experience with GE/Emerson and Siemens PLC platforms is preferred.
Demonstrated ability to interpret and modify PLC Ladder Logic, Function Block Diagrams, and Statement Lists.
Familiarity with industrial communication protocols including Profibus, Profinet, Remote I/O, Serial, and Ethernet.
Proven skills in maintaining, testing, and troubleshooting electrical hardware and system failures.
Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to collaborate effectively across diverse technical teams.
Willingness to work overtime, non-standard shifts, or participate in an on-call rotation as required to support 24/7 operations.
Ability to obtain certifications for Powered Industrial Trucks and Aerial Lift Equipment, as required on site.
