We have an outstanding Contract position for a Painter to join a leading Company located in Laurel, MD.
Pay Rate: $24.00 - $32.00
Schedule: Mon - Fri 6:00am - 2:30pm
**US Citizenship is required.**
**Candidate must have the ability to obtain and maintain a Secret Security Clearance.**
Job Responsibilities:
Survey existing coating conditions and recommend methods and techniques to restore to the desired condition.
Prepare work site and surfaces for painting, consistent with the materials to be used and in conformance with accepted industry standards and specifications.
Select, mix and apply various interior and exterior coatings.
Clean up after each job completion, maintain a safe and orderly work area and perform minor painting equipment maintenance as needed.
Operate vehicles and industrial equipment to perform these duties.
Basic Hiring Criteria:
5 or more years painting experience in a commercial/industrial environment.
Working knowledge of the various interior and exterior coating systems (latex and epoxy) used in a commercial/industrial facility.
Working knowledge of OSHA and EPA requirements related to personal safety and environmental protection.
Must be able to lift up to 50lbs unassisted
Must be able to work from ladders, scaffolding, roofs, and in confined spaces
Must be able to work Mon - Fri 6am-2:30pm
Ability to set-up and operate tools and equipment associated with the painting trade.
Effective communication skills, both verbal and written.
Capable user of Personal Computers.
Possess a valid driver's license. If selected you will be subject to a driving record evaluation.
Are able to obtain Secret level security clearance. If selected, you will be subject to a government security clearance investigation and must meet the requirements for access to classified information. Eligibility requirements include U.S. citizenship.
Desired Qualifications:
Are a member in the Society of Protective Coatings (SSPC) or National Association of Corrosion Engineers (NACE)
Possess OSHA or EPA training or certification
