We have an outstanding Contract position for a Field Service Technician to join a leading Company located in the Detroit, MI surrounding area.
**US Citizenship is required.**
Position is on 2nd shift but will train on first for about 5 weeks.
The successful candidate will have prior work history and a proven track record in the configuration, operation, and maintenance of hand-held portable computers, as well as desktop systems, and/or servers, as well as wireless networks in an industrial manufacturing environment. Knowledge and expertise in Windows operating systems management is required (Linux familiarity, in addition, would be beneficial). Expertise with Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and other Microsoft Office applications is required.
Job Responsibilities:
The candidate will interface regularly with management and engineering groups regarding systems and product performance, initiating, reporting on, contributing, and responding to suggestions for improvement.
Virtual as well as interpersonal collaboration with vehicle engineering and tooling engineering personnel to resolve unusual problems in system operations through structured problem analysis and troubleshooting should be expected.
Responsible for performing customer support activities involving the installation, modification, and repair of complex equipment and systems.
Conducts on-site installation and testing of equipment to ensure proper working order.
Isolates equipment start-up malfunctions and takes corrective action.
Prepares daily logs and reports work performed.
Performs predetermined work assignments with detailed instructions.
There is potential for occasional travel.
Basic Hiring Criteria:
High school education or equivalent and 1+ years of related experience.
Experience in vehicle diagnostics and fault codes, as well as vehicle electrical and electronics systems is very desirable.
Knowledge and expertise in Windows operating systems management is required (Linux familiarity, in addition, would be beneficial).
Expertise with Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and other Microsoft Office applications is required.
Desired Qualifications:
A bachelor's Degree in Electronic Engineering, Computer Science and/or Information Technology would be beneficial.
Experience in vehicle diagnostics and fault codes, as well as vehicle electrical and electronics systems, is very desirable.
