We have an outstanding career opportunity for a Senior System Integration Test Engineer to join a leading Company located in the Rockville, MD surrounding area.
Salary: $125,000 - $145,000
As a Senior System Integration Test Engineer, you will play a key role in designing and executing test plans for our innovative RF/microwave and antenna module development for SatCom user terminals. This is a unique opportunity to be at the forefront of the industry while collaborating with a highly skilled and dynamic team.
Job Responsibilities:
- Translate product requirements and key features into test plans and detailed test procedures.
- Set up test equipment and execute test cases across various phases, including system integration, OTA validation, and engineering field testing.
- Integrate and test the complete satellite user terminal, including active phased array antennas.
- Interface with customers during Engineering Field Testing (EFT), developing test plans, running test cases, preparing reports, and coordinating feedback.
- Support Limited Availability (LA) and General Availability (GA) product phases, ensuring seamless transitions and issue resolution.
- Write automated scripts for system and component testing (while scripting experience is a plus, it is not a deal-breaker for this role).
- Troubleshoot complex technical issues in a fast-paced and evolving environment.
- Manage test case tracking and validation against requirements.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including engineering and external development partners.
- Assist with product deployment and certification efforts.
- Travel to customer and EFT sites as needed (up to 15% travel based on project needs).
Basic Hiring Criteria:
- At least 2-3 years in networking plus hardware work.
- Telecom experience is mandatory - especially hands-on telecom experience (not virtualized environments).
- Have IP networking experience (real-world, practical application).
- Setting up and configuring network hardware is critical.
- Experience working with real physical products (routers, antennas, terminals, etc.).
- Lab experience is required, not just virtual labs.
- Ideally worked in environments requiring integration between hardware and networking.
- Comfortable setting up physical systems and troubleshooting them in a lab or field environment.
Desired Qualifications:
- 10+ years of SatCom test experience with a track record in system integration.
- Proven expertise in Antenna User Terminals and RF/microwave technologies.
- Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot and diagnose system failures in a methodical manner.
- Solid understanding of IT network troubleshooting, including DHCP, TCP/IPv4 & v6, subnetting, routing, and VLANs.
- Experience with customer acceptance testing, interfacing with customers, and field support is a major plus
- Experience working with test management tools and Microsoft Office.
