We have an outstanding Contract position for an IT Walk-Up Technician to join a leading Company located in Laurel, MD.
Pay Range: $30 - $37

We are seeking an IT Walk-up Support Technician to help us support the information technology needs of the nation's leading university-affiliated research center. You will be working with engineers, scientists, and business professionals who are addressing critical challenges of our nation. Responsibilities:
- Your main responsibility will be to provide onsite, in-person IT support services for customers including troubleshooting hardware, software, network connectivity, and mobile device issues, and performing account administration tasks in a fast-paced walk-up help desk.
- You will research, analyze, and diagnose problems with client systems using detailed processes where available and best practices where not.
- You will provide appropriate documentation on services provided and status updates as needed.
- You will perform other duties, as assigned, including driving APL vehicles as necessary.
Basic Hiring Criteria:
- At least 5 years of a relevant Tier 2 IT-related Support work experience.
- Must be a U.S. Citizen
- Possess a valid state of residence driver's license. The selected candidate will undergo a motor vehicle driving record review.
- Must be able to obtain Secret-level security clearance. If selected, you will be subject to a government security clearance investigation and must meet the requirements for access to classified information. Eligibility requirements include U.S. citizenship.
- Have the ability to troubleshoot and resolve technical problems for clients to independently resolve widely varying problems using current job knowledge and using research and external resources.
- Have hardware, software, and networking troubleshooting experience -- hardware experience must include laptops and mobile devices, software experience includes Windows, Macintosh, and Microsoft Office, networking experience to include understanding TCP/IP and DNS, Active Directory, and Exchange.
- Must be an excellent communicator, highly motivated, and have excellent customer service skills with the ability to work with all levels of staff.
- Are willing and able to support operations and work necessary hours to complete critical tasks and/or troubleshooting and work in a fast-paced walk-up space, in person with customers.
Desired Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree in an IT-related field.
- Possess enterprise-level experience with Linux, Windows, Mac, and/or iOS.
- Possess certifications: ITIL, Microsoft Certified Professional (MCP), Apple Certified Macintosh Technician (ACMT), HDI Support Analyst.
