We have an outstanding Contract position for a Quality Control Supervisor to join a leading Company located in the Sterling, VA surrounding area.

The Quality Control Supervisor Organizes and coordinates work activities around the implementation of quality and food safety programs and standards.

Responsibilities:

• Recommends new quality policies and procedures as necessary to ensure high-quality products, processes, and services.
• Communicates programs and standards to QC Techs and other plant employees.
• Oversees Quality Control Technicians' training and supervision.
• Investigates non-conformity issues, take corrective actions, and follow up to ensure the efficiency of the actions taken.
• Provides training to operations, maintenance, and receiving staff as needed.
• Maintains good communication and working relationships with the quality team and operations and USDA on staff personnel.
• Ensures that all USDA regulations are followed and that our and customers' quality programs meet and/or exceed customer requirements.
• Perform other duties as may be assigned by management.

Basic Hiring Criteria:

• Bachelor's degree in food science or a related field.
• Minimum 2 years of experience in food safety, regulation, and/or quality with food products in a food-manufacturing environment.
• Knowledge of food safety principles and food processing.
• Possess a basic understanding of cleaning and sanitation in a food production facility.
• Knowledge of FDA and USDA regulations; effective organizational, written, and verbal communication skills.
• Proficiency in MS Office, ability to perform comfortably in a fast-paced, results-oriented environment.
• Ability to successfully execute many complex tasks simultaneously.
• Prior experience dealing with USDA, FDA, and GMP preferred.
