We have an outstanding Contract position for a Payment Posting Specialist to join a leading Company located in the Houston, TX surrounding area.

Payment Posting Specialist is a position within our team that works with insurance and patients regarding their cardiac diagnostic services claims. This position is responsible for managing and reconciling all payment postings to ensure all payments are posted correctly to the patient's account with the correct amount and adjustment. If you love working with people, patient satisfaction and problem-solving this is a great opportunity to join the team with opportunities to grow your career within a great company.

Job Responsibilities:  
  • From Remittance and EOB post all payments to appropriate accounts with minimum errors.
  • Analyze EOB information, including co-pays, deductibles, co-insurance, contractual adjustments, denials and more for accuracy of final patient balances.
  • From lockbox apply manual payments to payers that are not electronically set up.
  • Scan all EOBs into the system and create hardcopy files from original EOBs by day.
  • Add appropriate denial codes and comments to ensure all necessary appeals and post-payment follow-ups can take place.
  • Investigate the source of unidentified payments to ensure they are applied to appropriate accounts. If necessary, contact the sender to clarify where the payment should be posted.
  • Assist in updating the Direct Deposit Daily.
  • Contact patients, insurance or third-party administrators when clarification of information is needed to successfully post payments.
  • Assist in running and balancing credit cards daily.
  • Accurately document all actions taken to reconcile outstanding balances.
  • Research inquiries in a professional manner and work with the Accounts Receivable team members to identify and resolve escalated customer concerns in a timely manner.
  • Complete work on special projects, queries and reports assigned.
  • Meet defined department goals and activity metrics.

Basic Hiring Criteria:
  • High School Diploma or equivalent combination of education/work experience.
  • Three years of experience in a healthcare revenue cycle, specific to the area of Expertise.
  • Xifin Billing System Experience.
  • Knowledge of payment posting and adjustments.
  • Knowledge of Medicare, Medicaid, and Commercial carriers.
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills.
  • Ability to read and understand the Explanation of Benefits.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and Internet Explorer.
  • Ability to work in a collaborative, team environment.
  • Ability to work independently and be result-driven oriented.
  • Ability to be well-organized, and detail-oriented, in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to think critically and identify the global impact across the revenue cycle with a solution-oriented approach.
  • Maintain confidentiality of sensitive PHI information.
