We have an outstanding Contract to Hire position for a Teller to join a leading Company located in the Richmond, VA surrounding area.

Job Responsibilities:  
  • Establishes member relationships through quality service and cross-selling products/services to meet member needs.
  • Handles cash transactions proficiently and accurately, exercising good judgment and seeking approval for any transaction exceeding assigned levels of authority.
  • Performs paying and receiving functions with accurate balancing and reporting, including but not limited to deposits, check cashing, loan payments, miscellaneous sales, cash advances etc.
  • Operate and maintain equipment such as coin sorter, Automated Teller Machine (ATM)/Interactive Teller Machine (ITM), Teller Assist equipment in conjunction with ITM, and Teller Cash Recycler (TCR).
  • Balance currency, coin and checks in cash drawer at end of each shift and adhere to cash balancing standards. Maintain accurate records of transactions and account for all receipts and disbursements.
  • Monitors phone queue and answers phone calls promptly to ensure members are assisted in a timely manner.
  • Assist with returned mail.
  • Assists the BSA Officer in completing SARs and CTRs as required.
  • Open new membership accounts and sub-accounts including IRA's and CDs.
  • Research and address member inquiries about products and services.
  • Perform account maintenance as authorized.
  • Credit Card and Debit Card processing and maintenance - Alerts, disputes, PIN resets, Travel Notifications etc.
  • Assists members perform a variety of account maintenance transactions such as wire transactions, teller transactions, stop payments, and statement print outs.
  • Helps members with electronic services such as home banking, mobile app, audio response, text mobile alerts, Pay-to-Pay (P2P) etc.
  • Effectively conduct needs-based interviews with current and potential members to educate them on products and services that may improve their financial wellbeing.
  • Process loan requests for all consumer loans and offer insurance products, such as credit insurance, GAP insurance and Extended Warranty, when appropriate.
  • Complete documentation and finalize loans while ensuring that the member understands the terms of the loan agreement and their debt responsibilities. Ensure loan agreements are complete and accurate according to the lending policy.
  • Funds Loans for Loan Department when needed.

Basic Hiring Criteria:
  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Minimum of one-year cash handling preferred.
  • Minimum of one-year customer service experience required.
  • Sales or referral experience with proven results.
  • Working knowledge with ten-key calculator, computer keyboard and computer programs such as Microsoft Word, Outlook and Internet.
  • Ability to interact with members in a positive professional manner.
  • Strong belief in and commitment to quality member service.
  • Ability to enjoy dealing with a wide variety of people.
  • Knowledge of products and services.
  • Ability to engage members in conversations to increase product penetration.
  • Self-motivated with demonstrated referral skills.
