We have an outstanding Contract position for an Industrialization Engineer to join a leading Company located in the Carson, CA surrounding area.
Pay Rate: $35
The Industrialization Engineer supports project management of industrialization deliverables on all new programs as part of the integrated program team. Responsible for high-level contribution and execution of effective industrialization of each new program. Provide Industrial Engineering expertise and coordination during the development of aircraft interior components. Responsible for determining the most cost-effective methods to create products. Focal for industrialization on new programs.
Responsibilities:
- Lead others and provide solutions to complex issues for industrialization deliverables on new programs as part of the integrated program team
- Develop and execute Industrialization plans in accordance with our standards and program goals
- Create, update, and improve the production element of the industrial dossier, mainly Manufacturing Bill of Materials, Routers, Standardized work instructions, (including operation's allocated time), testing and tooling equipment needs
- Provide technical contributions to the Design and Industrialization teams to develop optimal production processes for each product type
- Provide feedback for DFMA (design for manufacture and assembly) and propose alternative designs based on knowledge of DFMA
- Ensure execution of the plan for the design, manufacture, and implementation of new tools or prototypes from the tooling engineering teams on the new program
- Develop time standards and perform capacity analysis for entire programs or production lines and plans to achieve them as required
- Develop, maintain, and report status and communicate performance on a regular basis
- Analyze and manage industrial process and product risks during development for assignments requiring significant technical expertise
- Know, understand, and accurately apply regulatory requirements, customer specifications, and company specifications for a site or production line
- Manage machining, assembly lines, BOM creation, and line layout concepts for a Cabin BU
- Be proficient with most site manufacturing procedures
- Apply advanced concepts relating to manufacturability to engineering drawings and models
- In-depth knowledge of assembly line manufacturing
- Perform all tasks safely and always operate with a Quality mindset
- Perform all other duties as assigned
Basic Hiring Criteria:
- Bachelor's degree, or equivalent, in Manufacturing Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related technical field
- Up to 8 years of related experience in highly regulated engineering design or production environment, with experience in project management
Desired Qualifications:
- Fluency with ERP systems
- Advanced working knowledge of SolidWorks, CATIA V5, SmarTeam, AUTOCAD is preferred
- Good knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
- Knowledge of Visio and Project is a plus
- Good working knowledge of Microsoft Teams and SharePoint
- Experience working at an aircraft or other aerospace OEM
- Automotive industry experience is acceptable
- Deep knowledge of assembly techniques, common materials, and manufacturing processes used in the aerospace and/or automotive industries
- Proven ability to read and interpret complex engineering drawings and models at a system level
- Good knowledge and understanding of Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma, use of LEAN tools
- Highly developed organization and communication skills
- Ability to work well independently and cross-functionally, be proactive and a go-getter
- Excellent time-management, and problem-solving skills
- Strong knowledge of primary processes like assembly work and CNC machining
- Green Belt Certified is preferred
- Advanced 3D Modelling capability is preferred
- Understanding of APQP and PPAP is a plus
