We have an outstanding career opportunity for a Quality Engineer to join a leading Company located in the Markesan, WI surrounding area.

Responsibilities:
  • Quality Testing
    • Conduct routine and non-routine analyses of in-process materials, raw materials, environmental samples, finished goods, or stability samples.
    • Carry out ongoing lab and field sampling. 
    • Auditing visual, dimensional layout, and mechanical tests of materials and processes.
    • Interpret test results, compare them to established specifications and control limits, and make recommendations on the appropriateness of data for release.
    • Produce reports regarding nonconformance of products or processes, daily production quality, root cause analyses, or quality trends. Record, compile, and prepare reports for analysis and evaluation.
    • Inspect all product returns, analyze the defect, and document the findings. 
    • Analyze quality control test results and provide feedback and interpretation to production management or staff.
    • Evaluates defects and determines product disposition (ex: Sort, Hold, Us-As-Is, rework), as part of MRB. 
    • Participate in the development of Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (FMEA). 
    • Participate or lead FAIR, FAI, and PPAP.
    • Layout review.
  • Document Control
    • Complete documentation is needed to support testing procedures, including data capture forms, equipment logbooks, and inventory forms.
    • Document and implement inspection criteria and procedures.
    • Participate in the development of product specifications.
    • Assist with auditing, writing, revising, and verifying quality standards and developing forms and instructions for recording, evaluating, and reporting quality data.
    • Assist in the development of needed records and standards and maintain accurate and detailed files as required.
    • Update and maintain current revisions of AS9100 documentation through the document control system.     
  • Implement and maintain Quality Standards & Procedures
    • Verify all processes are conforming to established quality standards and required customer specifications.
    • Train staff on the method of disposition of discrepant materials, quality control, and analytical procedures.
    • Implement and maintain quality control training programs.
    • Monitor performance of quality control systems to ensure effectiveness and efficiency.
    • Provide support for updating, auditing, and maintaining the AS 9100 Quality Management System & Nadcap system.
    • Resolve quality issues by identifying problems and implementing effective corrective action plans for both internal and external issues. 
  • Ensure Customer Satisfaction
    • Interpret blueprints for the purpose of establishing customers' critical needs and how they should be measured.
    • Investigate (and correct) customer issues and complaints relating to quality; develop a solution, follow up as needed.
    • Communicate quality control information to all relevant organizational departments, customers, outside vendors, or contractors. 
    • Follow up as needed. 
    • Support & lead PPAP efforts related to new product launches to meet customer requirements, including development of Control PlanFMEA, Process Capability, GR&R, and other aspects of APQP. 
  • Participate in Continuous & Process Improvement
    • Assist in designing and implementing the procedure for the use of Statistical Process Control across all departments as required.
    • Assist departments in identifying and drafting manufacturing procedures for AS9100 compliance.
    • Identify critical points in the manufacturing process and specify sampling procedures to be used at these points.
    • Establish and Maintain Control Plans and FMEAs throughout the life of the part. 
  • All other duties as assigned.

Basic Hiring Criteria:
  • Bachelor's Degree preferred or equivalent work/industry experience.

Desired Qualifications:
  • Experience with Dimensional Measuring Tools such as Micrometers, Dial Calipers, Height and Radius Gages, Surface Plate, Romer Arm, and bridge-type CMMs (PC DMIS, Polyworks), and Optical Comparator.
  • Experience with AS9100 and AS9102 requirements is a plus.
  • Previous experience in the Investment Casting Industry is preferred.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to foster and promote a positive work environment.
  • Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Must have a strong understanding of GD+T. 
  • Must be hands-on and proactive about correcting problems. 
  • Strong analytical skills.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access).
  • Must be able to work in noisy environments. 
  • Must be able to lift 30 pounds, unassisted at times.
  • Must be able to bend, stretch, squat, and climb to access all parts of the machine.
