We have an outstanding Contract position for a Compliance Specialist to join a leading Company located in the Grand Prairie, TX surrounding area.

Job Responsibilities:  
  • Determine requirements of exporting and importing defense articles and services under International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR), Export Administration Regulations (EAR), and Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC).
  • Ensure all company procedures, work instructions, etc. comply with applicable regulations, guidance, and guidance.
  • Prepare and submit and monitor status of license applications, Technical Assistance Agreements, and requests for Commodity Jurisdiction, Classification, etc.
  • Coordinate with ECC, PCFs and/or Empowered Officials to ensure and oversee the accurate classification of products according to policies and applicable government guidance.
  • Ensure continued compliance of C-TPAT program with applicable guidelines (SPU Dallas only).
  • Monitor all departments' export transactions to ensure technical data, services and/or articles are exported according to U.S. regulations and company procedures.
  • Establish Export Compliance Coordinators for each area to assist in monitoring of that areas compliance related items.
  • Assist in compliance audits and investigations and implement necessary corrective actions.
  • Assist in and retain import and export records in accordance with applicable laws, regulations, procedures, and work instructions.
  • Ensure import / export documentation is completed properly on a consistent basis according to applicable regulations and company procedures, work instructions, etc.
  • Conduct departmental training for import/export compliance with various internal/external departments.
  • Implement a system for conducting site audits for import/export compliance.
  • Other duties as assigned.
  • Interface with U.S. Customs brokers, freight forwarders, carriers, internal customers and suppliers to resolve issues affecting movement of inbound materials.
  • Monitor import transactions to ensure Entry Summaries are completed and maintained properly.
  • Maintain compliance procedures and policies to ensure compliance according to the export controls program.
  • Monitor shipping transactions to ensure transmissions (export declarations) are completed and maintained properly and that no exports are shipped to restricted countries.
  • Monitor export tools used throughout company to perform Denied Parties screening and product/license determination.
  • Monitor and apply regulatory changes to product classifications and licensing in accordance with guidelines.
  • Review and evaluate export transactions involving controlled products and technologies.

Basic Hiring Criteria:
  • Experience interfacing with us custom brokers, freight, and carrier. 
  • Able to direct information as far as licensing requirements, current license or expired.
  • Direct traffic as far as licensing and maintaining/ensuring licensing up to date. 
  • Maintaining/directing information for HTS code – very important due to tariff (Nice to have) – validating information in SAP (The Harmonized Tariff Schedule (HTS) code, used by U.S. Customs for classifying goods and determining import duties, is a 10-digit code).
    • Trade compliance certifications are a plus. 
    • CTG certification.
    • Associates of certified sanctions specialist.
