We have an outstanding career opportunity for a Tax Manager to join a leading Company located in the Hannibal, MO surrounding area.

We are seeking an experienced and well-rounded Tax Manager to lead a team of skilled tax professionals and deliver high-quality service to a diverse client base. This role is ideal for a seasoned tax professional who thrives in a collaborative environment, enjoys mentoring others, and is committed to maintaining the highest standards of client service.

Job Responsibilities:  
  • Manage and supervise a team of 3-4 tax accountants, providing guidance, mentorship, and performance feedback.
  • Oversee the preparation and review of complex tax returns for small businesses, individuals, nonprofits, and benefit plans.
  • Conduct tax planning and consulting engagements for clients to optimize tax strategies and ensure compliance.
  • Stay current with federal, state, and local tax laws and regulationsensuring timely implementation of changes.
  • Maintain strong relationships with clients, providing exceptional service and clear communication.
  • Assist in managing workflow and deadlines, especially during peak tax seasons.
  • Utilize tax software and accounting systems to ensure accurate and efficient work processes.

Basic Hiring Criteria:
  • CPA or Enrolled Agent (EA) designation required.
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
  • Minimum 5+ years of experience in tax preparation, or 3+ years in a tax management role.
  • Experience with a wide range of client types, including small businesses, individuals, nonprofits, and benefit plans.
  • Proficiency with CCH ProSystem fx, Accounting CS, and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and manage a team.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
