We have an outstanding Contract position for a Mechanical Assembler to join a leading Company located in Orange, CA.
Pay Rate: $19.00 - $22.00
Shift: 6:30am - 3pm; OT as needed
Assembler II will prepare and perform routine electronic and mechanical assembly operations at the unit and module assembly level using blueprints, work instructions, ECN's, deviations, drawings, diagrams, and written processes. In addition, the Assembler will assemble and inspect components, parts, subassemblies, and assemblies. Works on assignments that are semi-routine in nature but recognizes the need for occasional deviation from accepted practice and normally follows established procedures on routine work, requiring instructions only on new assignments. Asks for guidance from lead when there are questions about the build and the documentation is not clear.
Job Responsibilities:
- Identify the material used to build the product qty. and where used.
- Assemble components to a final configured product utilizing process instructions, engineering documentation (assembly drawings, wire lists, Wiring Diagram etc.), specialized tooling and fixtures, measuring equipment, and hand tools.
- Identify tooling requirements for assemblies to promote 6S.
- Experience in utilizing a variety of hand-held tools, crimpers, torque drivers, strippers, and screw drill gun.
- Perform all work in accordance with quality standards and established safety procedures. Maintain a clean and safe work area.
- Meets established standards of productivity and quality.
- Reads and interprets assembly drawings, parts lists, operation sheets and visual aids.
- Follow the lead's instructions on building units.
- Identify discrepant material using red tag process.
- May provide training and support to lower-level assemblers as required.
- Use of dated calibrated equipment and dated sensitive materials.
- Exhibit a positive 'Can do' attitude and be a part of the drive for continuous improvements and problem-solving team working culture.
Basic Hiring Criteria:
- Minimum 2 years of experience in electro-mechanical assembly.
- High School diploma or equivalent required.
- Ability to read assembly drawings, schematics, and wiring diagrams.
- Proficient use of small hand tools.
- Ability to read and verbally communicate and understand work instructions.
- Proficient and versatile technical experience and ability to support various workstations.
- Ability to promote and support line loading and updating Metric/KPI whiteboard.
- Ability to promote and support ESD and FOD programs.
- Ability to promote and support LEAN, 6S on a daily basis.
