We have an outstanding Contract position for an Inspector to join a leading Company located in Garden City, NY.
Pay Rate: $26-$32
Schedule:8am-5pm Mon-Fri
Job Responsibilities:
Responsible for first piece inspection, in-process and final products using open set-up, CMM and inspection methods and techniques in accordance with drawing requirements and specifications. Good communication skills, able to read and follow work instructions and quality procedures.
Read and interpret aerospace engineering drawings using geometric dimensioning and tolerances, including an understanding of maximum material conditions.
Inspect detailed parts and assemblies per drawing requirements and specs using standard measuring equipment.
Prepare and maintain inspection reports.
Program and/or operate the Coordinate Measuring Machine.
Perform Hardness testing.
Collect and tabulate data for SPC use.
Review Supplier F.A.I.R./Generate First Article Reports per AS9102.
Other duties as directed by the management.
Basic Hiring Criteria:
High school diploma or equivalent.
3-5 Years of mechanical inspection and aerospace experience.
Post high school education in math, engineering, inspection techniques or related fields a plus.
Basic computer knowledge, including MS Excel and Word.
Interpret drawing requirements/specs and geometric dimensions and tolerances.
Familiar with MIL, NAS, MS, AMS, AWS and AS specifications and standards.
PCDMIS programming skills.
Familiar with special process specifications for heat treat, welding, and non-destructive testing.
Equipment Used:
Vernier calipers.
Micrometers.
Height Gauges.
CMM machines.
Other standard measuring tools/instruments.
