We have an outstanding career opportunity for a Technical Writing Supervisor to join a leading Company located in the Minneapolis, MN surrounding area.
Salary: $100,000 - $115,000
Responsibilities:
Request Management
Oversee the end-to-end prioritization and management of technical documentation projects, ensuring alignment with Engineering, Product Management, Program Management, Services, and Content Operations objectives.
Determine priorities based on business value and urgent needs.
Workload Planning and Sequencing
Assess and manage the technical writing team's capacity.
Sequence projects thoughtfully to prevent team overload.
Negotiate deadlines with requesters and validate achievability with team members.
Process and Quality Improvement
Continuously seek process efficiencies and productivity gains. Work to standardize and simplify where possible.
Promote and uphold standards for high-quality documentation.
Decisive when addressing trade-offs between schedule, quality, and scope.
Team Collaboration and Support
Coordinate with various teams to understand their documentation needs.
Ensure writers have the required tools, resources, and knowledge.
Hold regular one-on-ones with team members to discuss active work, clear roadblocks, and encourage personal development.
Lead team meetings, preparing agenda and focused topics as needed.
Promote the use of best practices within the team.
Encourage collaboration across teams and strengthen connections with key stakeholders.
Team Development and Culture
Act as an ambassador for team culture (LCI: culture, continuous improvement, inclusion).
Support career growth for team members, ensuring alignment with individual development goals.
Advocate equally for the team and the customer, ensuring customer needs are prioritized in documentation.

Basic Hiring Criteria:
Bachelor's degree in communications, business, engineering, or other related fields.
Minimum 5 years of experience in a technical environment, preferably with mechanical and electrical systems.
Minimum 3 years of experience leading or mentoring teams.
Proactive, with the ability to drive a sense of urgency appropriately.
Outcome-focused and customer-centric.
Strong, clear, transparent communication skills; checks for understanding.
Able to motivate and energize the team, promoting positivity and continuous improvement.
Approachable and trustworthy leader, fostering open communication.
Effective cross-functional collaborator, comfortable working with multiple teams.
Experienced in negotiating and coordinating deadlines and workload.
Ability to learn new tools/software and understand how they interact with other systems.
Desired Qualifications:
Experience with creating and managing technical content.
Understanding of technical writing authoring tools and structured authoring.
Understanding of component content management systems (CCMS).
Understanding of content strategy.
