We have an outstanding Contract to Hire position for a Machine Set Up Specialist to join a leading Company located in the Pomona, CA surrounding area.
Pay Rate: $24.75
The Injection Molding Set-Up Specialist/Trainer is responsible for overseeing and performing the set-up and operation of injection molding machines and providing advanced training to operators. This Set-Up Specialist/Trainer position involves extensive expertise in machine setup, process optimization, and quality control. The specialist/trainer will work closely with production teams to ensure efficient operations, lead process improvements, and mentor junior operators and trainees.
Responsibilities:
Communicate with PMOs, Leads/Supervisors, and Engineers.
Responsible for set-ups/change-overs of simple and complex mold bases and modules according to set-up guidelines.
Set up the vision system and part handling robots by changing end-of-arm tools.
Ability to select, upload, and download qualified molding programs.
Perform first article inspection of molded parts using a microscope.
Ability to analyze part defects and make process adjustments as needed.
Submit molds to get cleaned by the in-house tool room based on shot count.
Ability to clean the barrel and screw of the injection molding machine.
Responsible for cleaning and performing advanced troubleshooting of molds.
Responsible for purging and switching of materials.
Keep tool carts organized with the necessary tools to perform setups.
Read and interpret technical documents, including 2D blueprint drawings.
Operate the overhead crane to move molds to the desired location.
Clean and maintain work areas through Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) and 5S.
Abide by defined plant and department safety policies, including personal protective equipment (PPE)
Monitor machine operations to ensure quality and efficiency.
Conduct detailed quality inspections of finished products to ensure they meet specifications.
Maintain accurate production records and reports.
Collaborate with team members and supervisors to optimize production processes.
Develop and deliver training programs for junior operators and trainees.
Lead the development and implementation of process improvements.
Analyze production data to identify trends and areas for improvement..
Provide technical expertise and support to the production team.
Assist in the planning and execution of production schedules.
Work closely with management to develop and implement strategic initiatives.
Any other duties or responsibilities assigned by the Supervisor/Manager.
Basic Hiring Criteria:
Plastics experience required.
