We have an outstanding Contract position for a Product Shipping/Receiving Clerk to join a leading Company located in the Vista, CA surrounding area.
Pay Rate: $21 - $22
**US Citizenship is required.**
Responsibilities:
Performs a combination of manual and clerical shipping and receiving duties; may work out of a central warehouse.
Uses a computer system for tracking, logging, verifying, and reporting.
Follows shipping practices and procedures, and transportation routing, schedules, and requirements.
Receives incoming materials or prepares materials for shipment.
(Un)packs or (un)wraps items such as finished products, raw stock, assemblies, parts, building materials, office supplies, equipment, etc.
Verifies quantity, weight, and conformance of materials to stated identifications; logs receipt of items on system, processes freight bills, packing sheets, and other documents; reports materials shipped and bills of lading; posts weight and shipping charges; and routes merchandise to destinations.
Performs non-routine tasks which may involve some use of judgment and initiative in the shipping and receiving of materials, supplies, and equipment.
Under general supervision, prepares a record of goods shipped and received and bill of lading, posts weights and shipping charges, and maintains shipping record files.
May operate a forklift and prepare goods for final shipment.
Under limited supervision.
Receives some instruction on routine work and general instructions on new assignments.
Uses professional concepts to solve a variety of problems.
Works on assignments that are semi-routine in nature, where limited judgment is required.
Follows standard practices and procedures in analyzing situations or data from which answers can be readily obtained.
Decisions or failure to achieve results may cause delays in schedules.
Interacts daily with supervisor, peer groups, and internal and external customers.
Interaction normally involves the exchange or presentation of factual information.
May serve in a lead role and train others.
Having some knowledge and experience, able to handle unusual job events.
Choice of action requires more than common sense in that some training and experience are needed before knowing what to do under special circumstances.
Above-average communication skills.
Basic Hiring Criteria:
High school education or equivalent and 3+ years of related experience.
Forklift experience.
General warehouse experience.
Basic computer skills.
Dependable.
Fast learner.
