We have an outstanding career opportunity for a Project Engineer to join a leading Company located in the Hutchins, TX surrounding area.
Under the direction of the Project Engineering Manager, the Sr. Project Engineer I is responsible for managing projects from the design stage all the way through production approval, including tooling, fixtures, gauging, production routings, schedules, dimensional approval, costs, profitability, and customer contact/correspondence.
Responsibilities:
Comply with all safety and health guidelines, quality standard practices/procedures, and housekeeping standards.
Prioritize customer satisfaction, timeliness, and quality.
Manage and facilitate all part number project activities in multiple facilities, including tool design, gauge design, and supplier selection.
Leads all APQP processes for all assigned part projects.
Acts as a mentor and resource to other engineers at levels I & II.
May be responsible for the Engineering Intern program.
Act as an influencer and contributing member to the plant management team on process improvement projects, OKRs (i.e., OpEx planning, CI activities).
Investigate and correct part number scrap/defect-related issues.
Develops, evaluates, and improves manufacturing procedures.
Leads the plant management team during operational review meetings with the executive team.
May stand in for the plant manager during the meeting.
Ability to stand in for Process/Manufacturing engineer as it relates to new part activity.
Ability to effectively manage and problem solve through customer line-down situations, tight project development timelines, and quality concerns.
Participate in activities related to audits, regulatory, customer, and registrar.
Assist in the company's technical advancement through research and development.
Perform customer technical sales presentations/seminars at customer sites.
Basic Hiring Criteria:
Bachelor's degree in the technical engineering field from a four-year college or university and 5+ years' experience in a foundry setting; and/or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Experience in the aerospace or defense industries is a plus.
Prior experience with CAD, FEA, and MiniTab software.
Desired Qualifications:
Requires the ability to operate various equipment, including various precision measuring devices and lifting devices.
Requires a broad knowledge of tooling, material characteristics, and general manufacturing and machining practices.
Should be knowledgeable and/or familiar with applicable ISO/IATF/AS and quality system requirements and policies.
Be knowledgeable of 3D solid modeling (SolidCast) and NX (UniGraphics).
Apply GD&T principles and continuous flow manufacturing principles.
