We have an outstanding career for opportunity for a Pre-Construction Manager to join a leading Company located in the Houston, TX surrounding area.

As a Preconstruction Manager, you will play a crucial role in our project from initial design, all the way through the construction phase. You will work with internal and external team members to create project budgets, tender packages, and schedules to ensure the successful delivery of mission critical projects.    
 
Responsibilities:
  • Review all correspondence, documentation and information in accordance with company standards relating to the Tender/RFP process prior to distributing subcontractors/vendors.
  • Coordinate with Engineers and Construction Managers to develop project specific scope sheets
  • Conduct and manage recurring preconstruction meetings to ensure that project deadlines are met 
  • Host constructability review meetings with internal and external team members throughout the design process
  • Manage, track, and resolve all constructability issues throughout the preconstruction phase
  • Manage the creation of detailed MEP focused tender packages to prospective bidders
  • Collaborate and manage equipment RFP for equipment vendors
  • Investigate and research market areas to identify qualified subcontractor partners
  • Collaborate with internal team members to successfully onboard new subcontractors
  • Oversee the project RFI process during the preconstruction phase
  • Manage the submittal process with internal and external team members during the preconstruction phase
  • Identify value engineering and cost-saving initiatives without compromising project quality
  • Evaluate and analyze subcontractor/vendor proposals for 'best value' recommendations to the project team
  • Build relationships with subcontractors and design consultants
  • Lead subcontractor scope review meetings with the project team 
  • Manage the development of project schedules with the project scheduler and construction team
  • Create project budgets/estimates at key design milestones (25%, 50%, 90%, 100% construction documents)
  • Lead the project transition from the preconstruction to construction phase with the project team
  • Support the Construction Managers in coordination of the subcontractor award process
  • Training and mentoring of Procurement Managers
  • Coordinate construction contract details with internal legal and project manager team
 
Basic Hiring Criteria: 
  • Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Architecture, Engineering or related experience.  
  • Minimum 5 years of relevant experience with a background in MEP construction.  
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office.
  • Strong problem-solving skills to identify issues, propose solutions, and resolve document-related challenges promptly.
  • Solid understanding of construction materials, methods, and processes, with the ability to interpret project plans and specifications accurately.
  • Available for occasional travel.

Desired Qualifications:
  • Up to 10 years of relevant experience with a background in MEP construction. 
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills to effectively collaborate with project teams, contractors, suppliers, and clients.
  • Excellent analytical and organizational skills.
  • Works productively in a high-pressure environment.
  • Strong all round technical knowledge.
