Provide schedule management and support, on live construction projects while also using pre-construction design information and documents to develop tender schedules for upcoming projects.
Responsibilities:
Manage the schedule using either Microsoft Project or Primavera P6 (preferred).
Provide detailed support and assistance to the construction team, including interacting with contractors to determine actual progress and proposed construction plans and methodology.
Prepare delay analysis reports internally and to external clients when required.
Organize and attend meetings with designers and other key suppliers to review progress of scheduled works. Looking ahead to ensure designs / technical issues / engineering problems are identified early to prevent negative impact on the schedule.
Propose schedule recovery strategies and delay mitigation measures.
Produce schedules, reports, extracts, filtered schedules, short term schedules.
Communicate with vendors to determine up to lead in periods and delivery dates.
Introduce improvements and innovations where appropriate.
Liaise with design or project management colleagues to ensure the solutions being developed are in the best interests of the project.
Ensure planned construction methodology and design solutions can be constructed safely.
Communicate and engage with clients to ensure clear communication of planned work.
Basic Hiring Criteria:
Bachelor's Degree in engineering or construction management or equivalent industry experience.
Experience of scheduling large construction projects using Microsoft Project and / or Primavera P6.
General awareness of commercial issues relating to construction contracts. Ability to recognize and record change events and delays during the construction period.
Understanding of the construction process, such that the works are planned, and designs are developed with appropriate regard for buildability.
Possess a sound understanding of engineering and construction principals and their application.
Experience and knowledge of temporary works and identifying what temporary measures are required to carry out the works.
Possess a good knowledge of safety policies and procedures and working according to safety rules and regulations.
