We have an outstanding Contract position for a General Construction Carpenter to join a leading Company located in the Ft. Hood, TX surrounding area.
Focuses on maintaining, repairing, and installing structural elements within commercial or industrial buildings. They support the broader building technology systems by ensuring the physical infrastructure is secure, safe, and operational.
Responsibilities:
Structural Maintenance & Repair: Performs carpentry tasks, including repairing or installing drywall, metal studs, ceiling systems, flooring, doors, hardware, and furniture.
Preventative Maintenance: Conducts routine inspections of building structures to identify and fix issues before they require major repair.
Installation & Retrofitting: Installs and upgrades building structures or fixtures as part of retrofitting projects.
Safety & Compliance: Ensures all work complies with local building codes, fire regulations, and company safety standards, including the proper use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
Coordination: Works alongside other trades (HVAC, electrical) and contractors, supporting larger construction or service projects.
Documentation: Accurately logs maintenance activities, completion times, and materials used in a Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS).
Basic Hiring Criteria:
High school diploma or equivalent.
Desired Qualifications:
Previous experience in commercial construction, facility maintenance, or carpentry.
Proficiency in using hand and power tools.
Ability to read blueprints and technical drawings is highly desired.
Strong communication skills, ability to work independently, and availability for on-call/emergency shifts.
