We have an outstanding Contract to Hire position for a Credit Control Representative to join a leading Company located in the Houston, TX surrounding area.

A motivated Credit Control Representative with comprehensive knowledge of collection strategies, with an overall background in the logistics or maritime industry. The Credit Control Department is responsible for collecting all outstanding invoices related to the transportation and servicing of our tank containers. The department plays a crucial role between the Operational and Sales departments. The ideal candidate is highly organized, efficient, and accurate. Must be able to keep track of any outstanding issues with various parties and people, both within the organization and outside of it.
 
Responsibilities:
  • Responsible for accounts receivable relating to a diversified portfolio of clients, including frequent collection calls and necessary research
  • Assist in ensuring the complete collection of freight and other income as soon as possible, with due regard to prevailing credit and other arrangements
  • Ensure the company's credit policy and related procedures are complied with
  • Communicate actively with internal client owners with respect to collection issues and problems encountered for their clients
  • Work independently on problems within the area of responsibility and make related recommendations to management
  • Identifying, gathering, and maintaining records
  • Invoice distribution and/or additional administrative tasks assigned
  • Ability to manage time wisely, including assisting team members as needed
  • Keep the direct line supervisor apprised of potential deviations in daily business proceedings
  • Other job duties, as assigned

Basic Hiring Criteria:
  • High School Diploma or equivalent; Associate's degree preferred
  • Minimum 2-3 years of work experience in the transport or maritime industry
  • Good analytical and problem-solving abilities
  • Strong focus on efficiency and being organized
  • Detail oriented
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines
  • Lead positively and collaboratively to improve performance and production
  • Possess a strong will to learn and develop
  • Ability to think outside the box
  • Ability to identify improvements in current processes and practices
  • Good oral and written communication skills
  • Ability to interact with all levels in the organization
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and multitask, with the ability to plan and complete work assignments with little supervision
