We have an outstanding career opportunity for a Construction Estimator to join a leading Company located in the Friendswood, TX surrounding area.
The Construction Estimator will be responsible for preparing detailed cost estimates, analyzing project documents, and supporting competitive bids. The ideal candidate will have strong technical expertise, proficiency with estimating software and bidding platforms, and the ability to communicate effectively with both internal teams and external stakeholders.
Job Responsibilities:
Prepare accurate and detailed cost estimates for a variety of construction projects.
Perform quantity take-offs, square-foot estimating, and cost analysis.
Review and interpret blueprints, specifications, and other project documentation.
Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and stakeholders to align estimates with project requirements.
Utilize estimating software and bidding platforms to prepare and submit bids.
Research and analyze market conditions, subcontractor pricing, and industry trends to ensure competitive estimates.
Support contract negotiations with accurate and well-documented cost data.
Basic Hiring Criteria:
High school Diploma or equivalent.
Construction estimating: 3 years of experience.
Demonstrated experience as a Construction Estimator.
Strong knowledge of construction systems, methods, and materials.
Proficiency in quantity take-offs, square-foot estimating, and cost analysis.
Familiarity with accounting principles, project management practices, and construction contracts.
Excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, and analytical problem-solving ability.
Strong written and verbal communication skills, with proven negotiation capabilities.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook).
Proficiency in estimating software, including RS Means and comparable platforms.
Experience with bidding platforms such as Planhub, ConstructConnect, iSqft, IonWave, and Bonfire.
Certified Professional Estimator (CPE) or equivalent credential preferred.
