We have an outstanding career opportunity for a CNC Technician to join a leading Company located in the Howell, MI surrounding area.
Sets up and operates CNC machines or machining centers to perform various machine functions, such as cutting, drilling, milling, reaming, boring, and broaching of metallic and nonmetallic workpieces by performing the following duties.
Responsibilities:
Verifies that fixture setup meets acceptable quality standards regarding milling and boring sizes, depths, angles, or other specifications.
Mounts, aligns, and secures tooling, attachments, and workpieces on the machine.
Assembles cutting tools in toolholders and positions toolholders in machine magazines.
Conducts prove-outs and selects correct programming during setups and changeovers as needed.
Starts the machine and monitors displays and machine operation to detect malfunctions.
Stops the machine to change cutting tools and set up according to the required machining sequence or to measure parts for conformance to blueprint specifications.
Discusses errors with supervisor or programming personnel to resolve problems.
Performs machine maintenance.
Performs other related duties as assigned and as necessary.
Ability to lead one or more operators in a machining cell on two or more product lines.
Basic Hiring Criteria:
High school diploma or equivalent.
Minimum three years of experience in a CNC environment.
Basic knowledge of Quality Systems (TS16949), work instructions, and quality standards.
Intermediate knowledge of and experience with CNC machinery.
Intermediate knowledge of machining and assembly processes.
Intermediate understanding of Control Plans, FMEA, Flow Charts, tooling, and setup.
Basic knowledge of hydraulic, lubrication, and mechanical equipment.
Proficient understanding of CMM reports, gage readings, and able to use CMM reports and gages.
Proficient computer and ERP skills required.
Must be proficient in all duties/responsibilities/skills/abilities laid out under the CNC operator 1 and CNC operator 2 job descriptions.
