We have an outstanding career opportunity for a General Manager to join a leading Company located in the Chatsworth, CA surrounding area.

Salary: $180,000 - $200,000

The General Manager is responsible for overseeing all aspects of a food manufacturing facility, including production, quality assurance, food safety, operations, supply chain, financial performance, and personnel management. This role ensures efficient plant operations while maintaining compliance with regulatory requirements, customer expectations, and company objectives.

Responsibilities:
  • Operations Management
    • Direct and oversee daily manufacturing operations to ensure production targets, quality standards, and delivery schedules are achieved. 
    • Improve operational efficiency, productivity, and cost control initiatives. 
    • Develop and implement manufacturing strategies aligned with company goals. 
    • Monitor plant performance metrics and drive continuous improvement programs. 
  • Food Safety & Quality Compliance
    • Ensure compliance with all food safety regulations, including FDA, USDA, HACCP, GMP, SQF, and OSHA requirements. 
    • Maintain high standards of product quality and sanitation throughout the facility. 
    • Lead audits, inspections, and corrective action programs. 
    • Partner with QA and Regulatory teams to ensure customer and certification compliance. 
  • Financial & Budget Management
    • Develop and manage annual operating budgets and capital expenditures. 
    • Monitor labor, production, and overhead costs to maximize profitability. 
    • Analyze financial reports and operational KPIs to improve business performance. 
  • Leadership & Team Management
    • Lead, mentor, and develop department managers and supervisors. 
    • Foster a culture of accountability, safety, teamwork, and continuous improvement. 
    • Support workforce planning, employee engagement, performance management, and succession planning. 
    • Collaborate closely with HR on staffing, training, and employee relations matters. 
  • Supply Chain & Inventory Oversight
    • Coordinate with procurement, warehouse, and logistics teams to ensure uninterrupted production flow. 
    • Optimize inventory levels and minimize waste. 
    • Maintain strong vendor and supplier relationships. 
  • Customer & Business Development Support
    • Support customer satisfaction initiatives and strategic business growth. 
    • Participate in customer meetings, plant tours, and operational reviews. 
    • Assist with new product launches and production scalability. 
  • Safety & Risk Management
    • Promote and enforce workplace safety policies and procedures. 
    • Ensure compliance with environmental, health, and safety regulations. 
    • Lead incident investigations and corrective action implementation. 

Basic Hiring Criteria:
  • Bachelor's degree in Food Science, Business Administration, Engineering, Operations Management, or related field preferred. 
  • Minimum 7–10 years of leadership experience in food manufacturing or the consumer packaged goods (CPG) industry. 
  • Candidates must be bilingual in English and Spanish.
  • Strong knowledge of food safety systems, regulatory compliance, and manufacturing operations. 
  • Proven experience managing budgets, production planning, and operational improvements. 
  • Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills. 
  • Experience with ERP systems and manufacturing performance metrics preferred. 

Desired Qualifications:
  • Lean Manufacturing / Six Sigma experience. 
  • HACCP or SQF certification knowledge.
  • Multi-site management experience.
