We have an outstanding Contract position for a Shipping Coordinator to join a leading Company located in the Fullerton, CA surrounding area.
Pay Rate: $23/hr.
We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Shipping Coordinator to support our aerospace fittings manufacturing operation. This is a high-level, fast-paced role responsible for coordinating shipping activities, managing documentation workflows, and ensuring accurate and compliant delivery of products. This position requires strong computer skills, the ability to manage a high volume of transactions, and a proactive approach to problem-solving. The Shipping Coordinator plays a key role in maintaining workflow continuity, investigating shipment issues, and supporting both domestic and international shipping processes.
Job Responsibilities:
- Coordinate daily outbound shipments to meet customer delivery schedules and internal production timelines.
- Schedule carrier pickups, shipping appointments, and transportation logistics.
- Manage and prioritize shipment workflow, including handoffs between shifts or team members.
- Prepare and review shipping documentation, including:
- Bills of lading (BOL).
- Packing slips and certifications.
- Export and customs documentation.
- Ensure accuracy of shipment details such as part numbers, quantities, and labeling requirements.
- Support international shipping and export processes, ensuring compliance with applicable regulations.
- Perform investigative work to resolve shipment discrepancies, delays, or documentation issues.
- Accurately process and track shipments using internal systems and tools.
- Utilize Excel for tracking, filtering, and organizing shipment data and workflow queues.
- Coordinate intercompany transfers and internal material movements.
- Communicate shipment status, priorities, and risks to cross-functional teams (Production, Quality, Customer Service, Materials).
- Maintain complete, organized, and audit-ready shipping records.
- Support continuous workflow in a high-volume, fast-paced environment.
- Follow all company policies, safety regulations, and aerospace industry standards.
Basic Hiring Criteria:
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- 3-5+ years of shipping, logistics, or distribution experience in a manufacturing or high-volume environment.
- Strong experience with shipping documentation, scheduling, and coordination.
- Working knowledge of export shipping and customs documentation.
- Intermediate to advanced Microsoft Excel skills (sorting, filtering, tracking data).
- Strong attention to detail with the ability to manage large volumes of paperwork and transactions efficiently.
- Excellent organizational, multitasking, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to communicate effectively and coordinate across multiple departments.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with a strong sense of urgency.
Desired Qualifications:
- Experience in aerospace manufacturing, distribution centers, or large-scale logistics operations is strongly preferred.
- Background in high-volume, fast-paced environments (e.g., aerospace, DCs, big-box retail distribution).
- Familiarity with compliance standards such as ITAR, EAR, or similar export regulations.
- Experience handling intercompany transfers and international shipments.
