We have an outstanding Contract position for a Board Support Package (BSP) Software Engineer to join a leading Company located in the Salt Lake City, UT surrounding area.
**US Citizenship is required.**
**Candidate must either possess an Active Secret Security Clearance or have the ability to obtain.**
We are seeking a Board Support Package (BSP) software engineer with experience in embedded real-time software development. This position supports existing and next-generation military communications software while working close to hardware, drivers, boot code, RTOS, interfaces, and platform integration. An engineer in this position is responsible for creating designs, adding features to current designs, and developing operating system configurations.
Job Responsibilities:
Configuring and patching U-boot and Linux for an embedded system.
Configuring the root file system for an embedded system.
Configuring Linux device trees.
Linux boot process on an embedded system.
BASH scripting.
Basic Hiring Criteria:
Bachelor's Degree and minimum 4 years of prior relevant experience.
Graduate Degree and a minimum of 2 years of prior related experience. In lieu of a degree, minimum of 8 years of prior related experience.
Desired Qualifications:
Minimum of 4 years embedded software engineering experience.
C++ experience.
Experience or familiarity in:
PetaLinux
Yocto
VxWorks
Linux driver development
Buildroot
jffs2, UBI, and ubifs
Busybox
Board bring-up / JTAG
Experience debugging hardware.
Experience with Linux kernel/device drivers.
Design and implement software for embedded devices from requirements to production using C and C++ in a cross-compiled environment.
Third-party and open-source software license documentation.
Familiarity with code revision management tools such as BitBucket.
