We have an outstanding career opportunity for an Operations Engineer to join a leading Company located in the Airway Heights, WA surrounding area.

The Operations Engineer will team with the Value Stream manager, cell supervisors, logistics, quality, and the operators to create, improve, and sustain smooth product flow at customer demand and at the lowest cost. 

Responsibilities:
  • Support the design of facility, cell, and process layouts to optimize flow and minimize cost
  • Process development and improvement, including equipment specification and tool design
  • First point of contact for process, flow, and quality issues
  • Determine optimum WIP and inventory levels, and influence the cell to maintain these levels
  • Disposition and repair of parts with quality issues
  • Support root cause and corrective action
  • Update planning and build sheets to reflect the current state
  • Support Value Stream process improvement for entire production, including tools and material handling
  • Business fundamentals, understanding program requirements, potentials, and ROI's
  • Interpersonal awareness, emotional intelligence
  • Leadership qualities
  • Performs basic manufacturing analysis to recommend solutions
  • Estimates production times for basic processes, hardware, and tooling

Basic Hiring Criteria:
  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Manufacturing, or Industrial Engineering, or similar

Desired Qualifications
  • Manufacturing experience desired, preferably in a high mix, low-volume environment
  • Hands-on machinery/process improvement experience desired
  • Understanding of how to apply Lean in a Job Shop (such as QRM) or in mid-volume repetitive operations (such as Value Stream)
  • Understands basic concepts of manufacturing processes, familiar with administrative department practices (Quality at the source, Production control for job shop & repetitive production, etc)
  • Understanding of Continuous Improvement through the application of Lean principles (Safety, Ergonomics, Advanced 5S, Visual Management, Value Stream, Facility Layout, Continuous Piece Flow, Standardization, SMED, Six Sigma, etc)
  • Leadership and project management skills
