Great opportunity for an HR Generalist to join a leading Company located in the Point of Rocks, MD.  Must work onsite 5 days week in Point of Rocks, MD,   This a Direct Hire position. Need expereince with FMLA, working with Hiring managers, working within a union organization is helpful  and ADP is the HRIS system.

Responsibilities
  • The Human Resource Generalist will have both administrative and strategic responsibilities, performing daily functions, including enforcing company policies and practices, benefits, recruiting, onboarding, payroll, and employee relations
  • Oversee the full hiring process, monitoring and maintaining staffing levels within established guidelines, working with RPO Vendors, conducting onboarding and employee orientation sessions, and assisting with processing in ADP Portal
  • Responsible for the off-boarding process, including exit interviews
  • Respond to employees' inquiries and concerns about HR-related issues
  • Advise and advocate on HR policies, procedures, and programs to promote company culture and compliance
  • Assist in organizing employee activities such as social events, special benefits, civic involvement, and employee recognition
  • Gather and analyze data with useful HR metrics such as - time to hire and employee turnover rates
  • Promote Human Resource process standardization and process improvement while serving as a key partner to the HR Team
  • Design and recommend employee retention strategies and ongoing training opportunities to develop employees and provide support and problem resolution
  • Attend and participate in employee disciplinary meetings, terminations, and investigations
  • Maintain knowledge of trends, best practices, regulatory changes, and new technologies in human resources, talent management, and employment law
  • Assist with the administration of human resource policies, procedures, and practices in accordance with stated corporate objectives and federal and state legal requirements related to the day-to-day management of employees, reducing legal risks, and ensuring regulatory compliance
  • Develop and maintain positive and effective working relationships with all employees throughout the organization
  • Serves as backup for payroll/timecard processing when needed

Basic Hiring Criteria:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Human Resources or a related field
  • Minimum 5+ years of progressive experience in a Human Resources role with experience in multiple disciplines across the employee life cycle
  • Thorough knowledge of a wide range of HR/legal standards & regulations, programs, processes, and tools in all areas ranging from recruitment, benefits, training, and payroll.
  • Experience with FMLA is needed for this position
  • Knowledge and experience with Human Resources disciplines spanning the entire employee life cycle
  • Ability to perform professionally at a high level using discretion and effective communication
  • Able to handle multiple projects and priorities
  • Advanced computer literacy and knowledge of MS Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
  • Preferred experience with ADP Workforce Now for onboarding, benefits administration, payroll processing, and reporting
  • Excellent communications skills, verbal and written
  • Must possess the ability to communicate effectively with all levels of personnel
  • Exceptional organizational skills with meticulous attention to detail
  • Must be able to work independently without close supervision to make sound decisions based on policy/Company practice
