Description:
In this role, you have the opportunity to innovate with high-end embedded technology to solve complex systems. You are a part of a dedicated hardware electrical engineering team that collaborates within hardware and across the organization.
To succeed in this role, you should have the following skills and experience
• Development of complex embedded digital hardware products from concept to completion
• Design with cutting-edge technology from Intel, Microchip, Xilinx, NVIDIA, TI and beyond
• Analysis including derating, reliability, and FMECA
• Schematic integrity checking analysis with Mentor Valydate or equivalent
• Bill-of-Materials (BOM) Configuration Control Management
• Component Selection and End-of-Life Parts Management
• Interacts with architecture/system engineering, program/product management, CAD & SI, ME, FW/SW, purchasing, and Manufacturing Operations
• Design modules that include processors, network switches, backplanes, and IO modules
• Designs using high-speed digital design interfaces including Ethernet, PCIe, DDR SDRAM Memory. Other support circuitry to include DC/DC power, Clocking, JTAG, SPI, I2C, UARTs
• Develop detailed design specifications, test plans, and verification reports
• Develop schematics using Cadence DEHDL (Concept) or equivalent
• Support of CAD and Signal Integrity (SI) with PCB Rules with Cadence Allegro or equivalent.
• Use of HW LAB tools: Oscilloscopes and DVMs for verification and debug
• Lab Debug skills for both HW/SW that range from new development to continued sustaining
• Design with Intel CPU architecture (Xeon-D, Cascade Lake, Sapphire Rapids), development, and test including BIOS firmware
• Design with network switching (Mellanox, Broadcom, Marvel)
• Requirements traceability (JAMA, DOORS)
• Experience in development of proposals, requirements, and design specifications
• Atlassian Collaboration Tools (JIRA, Confluence)
• Commercial/Defense 3U/6U VPX (VITA46, VITA65)
• Commercial ATCA PICMG 3.0 experience
Responsibility Statement:
Analyze information to determine, recommend, and plan layout, including type of computers and peripheral equipment modifications. Analyze user needs and recommend appropriate hardware. Build, test, and modify product prototypes using working models or theoretical models constructed with computer simulation. Contributes to extremely complex technical aspects of a project. Creatively design, develop and test/verify complex circuits, modules or systems to meet customer and market requirements. Evaluates reliability of materials, properties and techniques used in production; plans, designs and develops electronic parts, components, integrated circuitry, mechanical systems, equipment and packaging, optical systems and/or DSP systems. May provide technical consultation to other organizations and work leadership for lower level employees. Operate with significant latitude to design, and contribute to the design or test of complex, high speed products and systems. Recommends corrections in technical applications and analysis.
Education:
Bachelor or Master's of Electrical Engineering or Computer Engineering
