Job Description:
Performs complex production assembly operations on assigned aircraft including structural parts, mechanical assemblies, subassemblies and aircraft systems, equipment and accessories using manual or automated assembly tools.
Duties and Responsibilities:
• Perform bench assembly and installation of mechanical and Structural components and systems on A/C in accordance with applicable engineering data and manufacturing planning.
• Execute functional tests and operational checks of mechanical components and systems on A/C; document results per test procedures.
• Troubleshoot and correct discrepancies using engineering drawings, wiring diagrams, schematics, and other authorized technical data.
• Follow manufacturing planning, work instructions, blueprints and applicable technical documentation to assemble, install, remove or replace aircraft components and associated hardware.
• Maintain a clean, safe and compliant work area; adhere to safety, tooling and EHS requirements.
• Perform other duties as assigned to support production and delivery objectives.
Required Skills
• Assembly Process:
Aviation mechanical and Structural experience with Knowledge of assembly and production processes, manufacturing capabilities (e.g., composites, structures), and data needed for defining delivery configurations (e.g., design definition, program directives, engineering drawings, change memos, wiring diagrams and schematics, functional tests, supplier data). Ability to differentiate production (manufacturing) processes and requirements from in-service procedures and requirements.
• Assembly Tools:
Knowledge of function specific specialized tools (e.g., sheet metal--cornice brakes, metal shears, pneumatic rivet squeezers, cold-hardening kits; electrical--crimpers, wire routing tools, multimeters)
• Engineering Drawings & Specs:
Ability to read, understand, and interpret engineering drawings and specifications (e.g., blueprint/schematic reading, specification, change, design).
• General Shop Processes:
Complete knowledge of shop processes to include Foreign Object Damage/Debris (FOD) prevention, material handling, safety, calibration requirements and Electrostatic Discharge (ESD).

Education / Experience:
Education/experience typically acquired through basic education (e.g. High School diploma/GED) and typically 4 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience (e.g. vocational school/Associate+2 years' related work, Bachelor, etc.).
