PDS Defense, Inc. is seeking an experienced Quality Production Specialist 3 – Planning & Config Assurance to support operations in New Orleans, LA. This mid‑level quality role supports configuration assurance, nonconformance analysis, and compliance activities in a highly regulated aerospace/space environment.

Position Overview

The specialist reviews and validates nonconformances, performs detailed analyses, and ensures adherence to Quality Management System (QMS) standards. The role also supports configuration assurance activities, guides QMS process adherence, and leads corrective/preventive action initiatives. Works under general direction with considerable technical autonomy.

Responsibilities

  • Review and validate product nonconformances, dispositions, quality procedures, and engineering requirements.
  • Perform analyses to evaluate product, process, and operational compliance with QMS, company procedures, contract requirements, and government regulations.
  • Conduct root‑cause analysis and implement corrective/preventive actions to prevent recurrence.
  • Independently develop, modify, and document resolutions to quality issues.
  • Negotiate and secure commitments for corrective/preventive actions, ensuring timely and effective closure.
  • Review and approve changes to Quality planning or disposition of nonconforming hardware/products.
  • Support configuration assurance, including validation of configuration management and material review processes.
  • Develop or adapt software system processes to align with evolving industry standards.
  • Implement corrective action based on audit findings; ensure proper handling and storage of media per engineering requirements.
  • Interpret industry standards and recommend implementation strategies.
  • Train and mentor team members on QMS principles, processes, and best practices.

Basic Qualifications

  • 3+ years of experience in a Quality role.
  • 3+ years interpreting engineering drawings, blueprints, schematics, and specifications.
  • Experience in the space industry, NASA interfacing, aerospace design, and/or aerospace quality.

Education / Experience

  • Typically an Associate degree + 3+ years related experience,
    OR
  • Bachelor's degree + 1 year related experience,
    OR
  • 5+ years of directly related experience in lieu of a degree.
