Location: Charleston, SC Shift: 1st Shift | 8:00 AM - 4:00 PM Schedule Requirement: Must be available to work a flexible schedule including early mornings, late evenings, weekends, holidays, and occasional overnights as needed
Overview
PDS Defense Inc., currently seeking a self‑motivated Retail Sales Associate to join the team in Charleston, SC. The ideal candidate is outgoing, customer‑focused, and driven to succeed. This role requires strong communication skills, attention to detail, and a commitment to delivering exceptional customer experiences.
Position Responsibilities
Accountable for daily cash control activities
Receive, process, and manage freight shipments
Maintain accurate stock balances and inventory levels
Organize customer orders and support special sales events
Process Mark Out of Stock (MOS) and Return to Vendor (RTV) merchandise
Complete inventory documentation and manage inter‑store transfers
Execute annual store inventory
Implement floor sets and maintain visual merchandising standards
Initiate and support specialized sales events
Maintain stockroom organization and cleanliness
Coordinate store maintenance activities
Retail Sales Associate Duties & Responsibilities
Open and close the store as scheduled
Deliver a high level of customer satisfaction through excellent service
Meet or exceed monthly, quarterly, and annual sales goals
Respond to customer and stakeholder communications, including email inquiries
Process Point‑of‑Sale (POS) transactions and merchandise returns
Manage freight processing and inter‑store transfers for markdowns
Maintain organized stockroom and prepare inventory for counts
Prepare and process customer store orders
Identify and report safety, housekeeping, and maintenance issues
Restock merchandise as needed
Perform routine cleaning of store and stock areas
Report customer complaints to the Store Manager
Follow all company policies and procedures
Basic Qualifications (Required)
2+ years of sales or customer service experience
Knowledge of Point‑of‑Sale (POS) systems
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Strong attention to detail
Professional appearance and demeanor
Positive, team‑oriented attitude
Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, Excel)
Ability to multitask, prioritize, and manage time effectively
Strong organizational skills
Quick learner with a disciplined work approach
Ability to lift up to 35 lbs safely
Ability to stand and move for extended periods; reach, bend, stoop as needed
Flexible availability, including nights, weekends, holidays, and occasional overnights
High school diploma or higher
Successful completion of required training (OJT or classroom)
Regular and predictable attendance
Preferred Qualifications
Counterpoint POS experience
Previous military or commercial experience in quality and/or operations leadership
Advanced experience with Microsoft Office Suite
Education & Experience
High school diploma or GED required
2+ years of related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience
