Overview
PDS Defense, Inc. is seeking a highly analytical and business-minded Business Data Analyst to support a growing Maintenance, Repair, and Overhaul (MRO) organization in Grand Prairie, Texas.
In this high-impact role, you will go beyond traditional reporting and serve as a strategic partner to the business. You will analyze operational data, identify opportunities for efficiency improvements, and help drive informed decision-making across a complex inventory portfolio valued at over $27 million, supporting a fleet of more than 450 aircraft. Key Responsibilities
Data Analysis & Reporting (50%)
Validate, organize, and prepare monthly management reports from multiple data sources.
Analyze operational and inventory data to identify cost drivers, improve stock accuracy, and increase efficiency.
Develop recommendations that reduce inventory and logistics costs while mitigating performance risks.
Establish, monitor, and report key performance indicators (KPIs) related to inventory availability, forecasting accuracy, efficiency, and overall cost drivers.
Transform complex datasets into meaningful business insights and recommendations.
Data Collection & Management (30%)
Coordinate data exchanges across multiple internal and external platforms.
Consolidate and maintain centralized data repositories.
Perform routine data validation to ensure consistency, accuracy, and integrity.
Support and maintain internal analytical tools and platforms, including Skywise and AppSheet.
Establish processes that improve data quality and accessibility across the organization.
Forecast Management (20%)
Communicate MRO forecast requirements to key stakeholders, including Global Supply Chain, Procurement, and international partners.
Track and coordinate forecasted removals, repairs, and material requirements for Time Between Overhaul (TBO) and Service Life Limited (SLL) assets.
Collaborate with suppliers, repair facilities, and business partners to ensure forecast requirements are executed successfully.
Develop and maintain quarterly forecasts and inventory planning metrics.
Required Qualifications
Education
Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Statistics, Aeronautics, Supply Chain Management, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and professional experience.
Experience
Minimum of 2 years of experience in data analysis, business reporting, and operational performance measurement.
Demonstrated experience transforming raw data into actionable business insights and recommendations.
Experience developing, maintaining, and tracking key performance metrics and reporting packages for leadership teams.
Technical Skills
Intermediate to advanced proficiency in:
Microsoft Excel
Google Sheets
Data manipulation and reporting tools
Ability to quickly learn and achieve proficiency in SAP.
Experience performing data validation, cleansing, and reconciliation across multiple systems.
Analytical & Business Acumen
Proven ability to conduct deep-dive business analysis and identify root causes of operational challenges.
Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to evaluate large datasets and translate findings into strategic recommendations.
Ability to streamline processes, improve data accuracy, and drive operational efficiencies.
Exceptional attention to detail and commitment to data integrity.
Communication & Collaboration
Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Ability to effectively collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders, including Supply Chain, Procurement, Operations, and external business partners.
Comfortable presenting analytical findings and recommendations to management.
Work Authorization & Travel
Must be authorized to work in the United States without current or future visa sponsorship.
Ability to work onsite in Grand Prairie, TX.
Ability to travel up to 10% domestically and internationally as business needs require.
Preferred Qualifications
Master's degree in a related field.
Experience supporting aviation, aerospace, or fleet-related data analysis and reporting.
Experience developing performance metrics, dashboards, and reporting tools.
Knowledge of Google Apps Script.
Experience with:

Advanced data visualization platforms
French and/or German language proficiency.
