Job Description:
Seeking Integral Fuel Cell Mechanic to support the team based out San Antonio, TX
-Removal and reinstallation of structural brackets, supports, vents, tubes, and component assemblies in aircraft fuel tanks.
-Performs dry capacity checks
-FOD free inspections prior to tank closure, fuel tank leak repairs/leaks checks, and drain/air purge fuel tanks.
-Required to perform fuel system maintenance & pressurization checks as required.
-Required to perform Resistance Measurement and Seal installations to support fuel systems
-Performs fuel tank maintenance safety tasks including clearing the aircraft when applying electrical power, using grounding safety devices, performing lock-out/tag-out, and performing Lower Explosive Limit (LEL) tests.
-Defuels and refuels aircraft as required.
-Applies comprehensive technical expertise to solve moderate to complex problems by interpreting technical documentation such as; blueprints or manufactures' manuals.
-Read and follow the Boeing and provided technical data, blueprints, engineering drawings, standard operating procedures, and manufacturing specifications in the maintenance processes.
-Provides troubleshooting knowledge, inspection, repair, modification, replacement of aircraft fuel components and systems and follow-on operational checks.
-The mechanic will be required to access aircraft data via computer systems and initiate on-line parts and discrepancy requests.
-Perform efforts associated with flight controls installation, removal and rigging. Landing gear ops check, door rigging and servicing of aircraft
Ability to perform the following requirements:
* The candidate must be able to ascend and descend vertical work ladders, work in confined spaces, and lift loads of approximately 35 pounds.
* Exposure to noise, working on elevated platforms
* Use personal protective gear for face, eyes, ears, hand, and arms as required.
* Pass visual acuity and color perception tests
* Experience understanding and interpreting detailed written and verbal work instructions and processes
* Handle, use, and dispose of hazardous material
* Obtain & maintain training certifications as required to support assignment responsibilities
* Occasional (1 to 3 hrs) finger manipulation
* On occasion, a 2-person lift may be necessary for weights greater than 50 lbs
* Frequent reaching overhead (3 to 6 hrs)
* Frequent walking on flat surfaces
* Frequent standing flat or uneven surfaces
* Frequent balancing on a ladder, steps, or uneven surfaces
* Occasional climbing on 3-12 ft ladders or stands
* Rotation of head/neck, sitting, crawling, squatting, bend/stoop, lying down, and operate foot controls for an extended period of time
* Occasional contact with metals
* Frequent exposure to noise
* Able to work various shifts and/or an alternate baseline schedule that may frequently change to support mission requirements and may include weekends and holidays. Mission requirements and/or workload may require both scheduled and unscheduled overtime
Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):
-2+ years of experience working as a fuel tank aircraft mechanic
-2+ years' experience reading schematics, technical data and work instructions
-Ability to fit and work inside fuel cells
-Respirator use required
-Ability to work rotating shifts
Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):
-Experience with Depot Level/General maintenance procedures.
-Experience reading and follow the Boeing and provided technical data, blueprints, engineering drawings, standard operating procedures, and manufacturing specifications in the maintenance processes.
-Familiar with performing lock-out/tag-out, and performing Lower Explosive Limit (LEL) tests.
Education / Experience:
-Education/experience typically acquired through basic education (e.g. High School diploma/GED) and typically 4 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience (e.g. vocational school/Associate+2 years' related work, Bachelor, etc.).
